Camp Deerlake  in Haw River, NC is going very well.  This is one of the kids favorite camps.  Mr. Brandon, the camp director, spoils the kids at every possible opportunity.  He offers them as much candy, ice cream, and popcorn as they could possibly want.  Of course Mom says that they have to brush their teeth every time they eat something sweet!!!

Maddie is running “Junior, Junior Camp” for Lynnzie.  She is planning games and snack time and learning time for Lynnzie.  One of the games she played consisted of Lynnzie carrying a basketball between her knees and walking as fast as she could around a circle on the gym floor.  The basketball was about as big as Lynnzie.  It was soooo cute.

Please pray that souls will continue to be saved and lives changed for  Christ.

Today we ended  the VBS that we helped with at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kings Mountain,NC .  Jake taught the 3rd-6th graders and I (Jessica) taught K-2nd grade.  Fourteen children accepted Christ as their Savior.  The church people ran the program and Jake and I did the teaching.  For the classes, I (Jess) did a 5-day bible lesson of salvation based on the wordless book and a story about a family from Switzerland for the missionary story.  Callie, Bryce (also known as “Bible Boy”) and Maddie helped each night by doing skits to demonstrate biblical principles about things that kids deal with.

We just finished a week of primitive camping in the mountains of north Georgia at Camp Hosanna.  We survived the heat and the infestation of flies!!!  We saw thirty six kids saved.  It was wonderful.  The Lord really blessed!

Last week was our area-wide meeting in Southeast Georgia.   It was so exciting to see a years worth of planning come to fruition.  We couldn’t believe it finally happened.  Thank you very much to all of you who prayed for the meeting.  We saw six people receive Christ as their Savior.  Many Christians were drawn back to Christ.  Six people surrendered to full time christian service.  Our highest attendence was 372 people.  The Lord provived for all the expenses which was a tremendous blessing.  The pastors of the participating churches were very encouraged at the excitement of their  people and asked if we would consider doing this again in 2012 for possibly two weeks. We will wait and see what happens with that.

While in Georgia, we were able to enjoy Jeckyl Island.  This island is filled with history.  It used to be owned by the Rockefellers, but now it is a historic landmark visited by many tourists.  The island has huge tree with spanish moss hanging all over them.  The branches touch the ground and make for great climbing.

Friday night we finished the meeting that we were helping Dwight Smith with.  Three souls were saved.  Two of them were teenage girls that have a father that hates baptists.  Pray for them to come back to church and to grow.  We also had a women and her two children that came from Iraq attend the meeting.  She was an interpreter for the US Army and has just moved to the US two months ago.  Terrorists broke into her home in Iraq and killed her twenty year old daughter.  Her husband is still in Iraq but hopes to join his wife and children to start a new life in America.  We also had a Hindu family from India at the meeting on Thursday night.  They are not saved but heard a clear gospel presentation.  We were thankful that they came.

Sunday we were with a pastor in Toledo, OH.  This pastor is a friend of Jake’s mom and dad.  He scheduled a revival meeting with us for the month of October.  We had a nice time of  renewing this acquaintance and ministering with them.

We are still waiting on the Lord with what to  do about  a truck and trailer.  Please continue to pray with us.  We will keep you updated!

Thank you so much for continuing to pray for us.  The Lords grace has definately been suficient.  We are now praying for the Lord to provide us with a fifth wheel trailer and a diesel/ dually truck so we can be safer on the road.  We had a man contact us from a trailer manufacturer wanting to help us out.  We don’t know  what will come of that yet, but pray that the Lord will continue to intervene.

We are helping Dwight Smith in a revival meeting this week in Angola, IN.  There was a lady saved last night.  We are very excited about that.   We will keep you “posted”.

Praise the Lord, that He is still in the saving business. Last night we finished our first revival meeting since the accident, and it end with a climax. We had our largest crowd and the Holy Spirit convicted two teenagers their need for salvation. Pastor Schrock of Parkdale Baptist Church in Gastonia NC was excited to see God move in such a great way.

We are traveling as I am typing (Jessica is driving) and the Lord has given safety thus far and we are thankful. I would like to tell you all about God’s provision. We lost in the accident our all in one printer for our computer, last night before I started to preach Pastor said he had an announcement to make. He said “The D’Andrea family have been a special blessing to our church family so our church family wants to be a blessing to them” they gave us a brand new all in one printer. Praise the Lord for his provision.

We have also received about 500.00 dollars of our 800.00 dollars for our replacement of our hitch. Someone said to us “Where God guides He will provide!” I am thankful that God’s people are willing to listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and provide for his servants.

This weekend the task is to get our truck fixed and travel to Angola IN to start a week long revival meeting at Faith Baptist Church. Pray with us that souls will be saved and that saints will be revived. My concern for America is that if my generation does not see revival (God’s people falling in love with Jesus) there will be no more America. Pray with me that the saints will come back to Jesus.

P.S.- Pray for all the details of the accidents, medical bills, and truck &trailer that God will provide for us.

The Bible states “For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers….” what a promise that can get you through tough times like these.

It is the first Saturday after the accident, most of you that means it is time to catch up with some chores around the house, but for an evangelist that means it is time to travel. I am thankful that this Saturday my family and I will only be traveling six hours and without a trailer. I have lost confidence with the trailer at this point, but the promise of God is that He has not given us the spirit of FEAR but of Power, and of Love, and of a Sound Mind. I believe that the Lord will restore my confidence in the trailer and that this will NOT be a stronghold for Satan.

Pray with me for our SAFETY…. (We sincerely covet your prayers)

P.S. – I have priced the damage on the hitch and receiver and sway bar and load leveler bars the total is $800.00 . If you desire to help in this way you could send a check to the address on our prayer card or visit our website.

The Bible states “Wherein ye have greatly rejoice, though now for a SEASON, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: The trial of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto Praise, and Honour and GLORY at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

This is day four after the accident and yesterday was just as action packed as the first two. For a week and a half all three girls have had off and on fevers and stomach pain.  So I told Jessica why don’t you bring them to the doctor and have them check out while I go and clean out the trailer. She brought the three girls to see a local doctor and Maddie and Lynnzie seemed to have a bacteria and no UTI  but Callie the doctor was worried that she might have appendicitis. The Dr. said we needed to go to the E.R. immediately. At this point my world is upside down. Jessica took Callie to the E.R. while our friend took our other children back to the place we are staying. Jess called me at the clean up site to tell me “I’m headed to the E.R.” After several hours, blood work, an IV and a CAT scan we were told that Callie had a virus that has caused Mesenteric Adanitis or swollen, infected lymph nodes in her intestines, which is very painful, but is only really treated by managing the pain.  We will continue to keep a watch on her and report to our pediatrician in a week when we get home.

The phrase in the Bible ”ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations” I am there.  Often  when you go through times like these you ask  yourself “WHY?” I can tell you truthfully that I don’t understand the why but I do understand the only way I will make it through these manifold temptations are  by God’s promises, God’s provision, and by God’s protection.

I told the Lord this morning ”I am just going to trust and depend upon you for today that you will give me the strength and the grace to get through.” I believe this is living by faith!  The promise of the Word of God said it is for a SEASON, thank goodnes for that. Pray for all the details that God will give us wisdom in the decisions that need to be made.

P.S. Many have called, text, email, us asking is there anything you can do for us… Right now we are collecting the different bills and accessing the damage on different things

April 14, 2010

Praise the Lord for life. This is the first time I (Jake) have written about the accident. The Lord has shown me what His grace and mercy is all about. I believe that my life will be changed forever. My family and I were headed eastbound on 64 in Virgina close to Lexington VA, after cresting the top of a mountain a gust of wind pushed our trailer to the right. Then I decided to try to correct it but it made to worse. We were headed down hill with a swaying trailer and before I knew it the trailer was laying on the door side across Interstate 64 and my truck which was still attached was facing westbound in a eastbound lane. The Lord had cleared all the traffic for this accident to happen, if there would have been traffic it could have been very fatal. After taking a serious roller coaster ride my family was safe and sound. The Lord is GREAT, and greatly to be praised. My truck remained attached to the trailer and the ending results was the rear of the truck was about four feet off the ground, with no harm to the truck except for the hitch was twisted up. Once again the Lord’s protection was evident in my life. This all happen at about 3:00 p.m. on Monday April 12, 2010.

Monday was a very difficult day for me personally, but through such trials do we become stronger. I do not believe I have cried as much in one day as that day. For my thoughts were all over the map, like could I have done anything different, I could have flip my truck, even worse my family could have past away. But Jessica has been so strong for me thru this valley she said ” the Bible says we need to think on things that are true, things that are honest, things that are pure, things that are lovely and she said what you are thinking are things that are not true, things that are not lovely and that is not right.” Thank goodness for a wife that can encourage her husband in the Lord.

The next day was a little better though I didn’t sleep much in the hotel. We needed to contact the insurance company and decide what to do next. I have never been in this situation (and never want to be again) so I didn’t know what to do next. A pastor friend from Culpeper VA came down and just encouraged me and my family with words and his presence. Thank God for other Christians. We have receive emails, texts, calls, from all over the USA. What an encouragement to know that God’s people are praying with such fervency and power. There are many details of what needs to happen next, please pray that God will give us wisdom and strength to make it.

April 19, 2010 we will be in the Gastonia NC area resuming our revival meetings, and there is nothing that Satan would rather see than for us to quit and stop in evangelism. But Satan forgot “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.” Though this seem to be a mountain size obstacle in our lives, Jessica and I have decided we are going to keep  pressing on for Christ.

I ask that you pray with us about our trailer and truck situation that God would provide a tailor and truck that would keep us safe. The Lord has allowed us to encounter to close calls this month and we want to learn from these situation so that we do not repeat history. Pray also for our meetings that God’s power and presence would be evident in our lives and my preaching.
